Curacao Vacation

If you look down at our earth from space, it looks like a friendly blue and green ball, with some specks of white where the clouds are slowly drifting by.

You take a closer look and you see a planet full of war, people who are stressed and intolerant, the fear for terrorism, tsunamis, H1N1 and economic recession written on everyone's faces.

People are looking for a way to escape, but they can't, because it is the same everywhere! Wait? Everywhere? Not quite.

In the heart of the Caribbean is a small island, untouched by the threat of terrorism, carefully avoided by hurricanes and other natural disasters, where people of over forty different nationalities live peacefully side by side. It is a place without violence towards other races and where gays and lesbians can walk in the streets hand in hand, without provoking remarks, or worse.

It is a place with the clearest turquise waters you will ever see, charming authentic pastel colored historical buildings, white sandy beaches and warm sunny weather all year long.

The steady North-Eastern trade winds cool you off enough to take a hike along the rugged North coast or one of the old salt-flats. If you rather stay in town you can spend hours shopping, visiting the many wonderful musea or just simply relaxing at one of the harborsite cafes for a refreshing cocktail as you see the ships come by.

You must think I'm pulling your leg. A place like I just described couldn't possibly exist, could it?

Ah, but that is why it is called the hidden treasure of the Caribbean - let's make that the world! This is Curacao... And I am here to show you how to escape to Curacao, if even only for a day or a week. And once you are here, I am going to make sure you get so spoiled, that you will never want to go anywhere else in your life!

In my next post, I will start to unveil the curtain. So hurry back soon!
